I am working on a farrrrrrm! Driving a big old machine for a couple days. Makin some paperrrrrr lol. I don’t look very happy in this picture haha :)
A photo illustrating why Melbourne is so damn sexy sometimes. Forget what street this is… Near Flinders Lane I think.
My purchases for the weekend: Some cool sneakers that were 30 bucks (down from 90 bucks woohoo) and a book I’ve been meaning to read for ages now. Well satisfied.
We’re missing some furniture mainly. And some pictures on the wall. It’s okay for a few weeks tho and it’s FREE.
Sammy, our guide, making Kava. It’s a traditional Fijian drink made from the roots of a plant. It tastes kinda like cold tea except more peppery. There is an elaborate ceremony involving clapping and greeting each other when you drink it, except all the tourists are rubbish at it.
If you ever go to Fiji, people will try and have a Kava ceremony with you pretty much every where you go. This one was pretty special though because it was in a remote village in the mountains in a traditional Fijian Bure, and it felt very authentic.
Kava is mildly narcotic and makes your lips feel all tingly. According to Sammy if you drink 15 or so bowls you get pretty wasted. He says it makes your body feel like it’s asleep and it’s really hard to walk around and stuff.
